Kazuha, a Former Ballet Prodigy Now a KPOP Idol

Le Sserafim, the girl group, has celebrated its 2nd debut anniversary. It garnered significant attention as the first girl group launched through a collaborative effort between HYBE, the agency behind BTS, and its subsidiary label, Source Music.

Le Sserafim is a multinational girl group comprised of members from Korea, Japan, and the United States, attracting significant attention even before its debut. Notably, Kazuha, a Japanese member who has studied ballet since the age of 3, garnered a lot of interest due to her pre-debut achievements.

Kazuha, a recipient of numerous awards at ballet competitions in Japan from 2015 to 2019, is a true ballet talent having trained at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Russia and even the Royal Ballet School in the UK. Interestingly, she discovered the charm of K-pop upon learning about BLACKPINK during her middle school years.

In 2020, she embarked on a journey to study at the National Ballet Academy in the Netherlands. The following year, 2021, she applied for Source Music's online audition. She was greatly influenced by Jimin of BTS, who expertly blended K-pop and contemporary dance, inspiring Kazuha who majored in contemporary dance.

Upon receiving news of her acceptance into the audition in September of that year, Kazuha began taking Korean language lessons online in November. Furthermore, Source Music trainers traveled to the Netherlands to provide her with vocal and choreography training for her debut song.

In January 2022, she finally arrived in Korea. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she spent two weeks in self-quarantine, during which she diligently practiced the choreography for her debut song, 'FEARLESS'. After completing her quarantine, she underwent a four-month training period as a trainee, culminating in her official debut on May 2nd.

Kazuha's trainee period lasted a mere six months, including the two months she spent practicing in the Netherlands. Le Sserafim has continuously garnered love from the public with their releases, including the debut song 'FEARLESS,' as well as 'ANTIFRAGILE,' 'UNFORGIVEN,' and 'Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard's Wife,' which have all received positive responses.

Recently, Le Sserafim has captured significant attention by becoming one of the fastest K-pop groups to participate in Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the largest music festival in the United States. They will be holding fan meetings in various countries worldwide, beginning with 'FEARNADA 2024 S/S' in Seoul this May, offering opportunities to interact with their global fanbase.
